Liza Cody was born in London. She attended the City and Guilds of London Art School and the Royal Academy School of Art. She managed to support herself as a painter before becoming a film studio technician. Before turning to crime writing she also worked as a furniture-maker, a photographer, a graphic designer and an assistant at Madame Tussauds. Author Michael Z. Lewin was born in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1942. He studied chemistry and physics at Harvard University and taught high school science for three years before becoming a full-time writer in 1969. He is the author of the Albert Samson series and the Leroy Powder series. He currently lives in Bath, England.
