A male is sexually assaulted somewhere in the world every day. Whether he's a child, a teenager, or an adult, the victim suffers stigma, pain, and a deep longing to forget the cruelty inflicted upon him. He finds himself haunted by recurring memories, nightmares, even flashbacks triggered by events as trivial as a single sound. A Matter of Time is a fictional portrayal of a very real world in the shadows where one man tries to cope with feelings of shame and the devastating loss of self-esteem. Those finding their way out of the shadows are called "survivors". Fearful of rejection, afraid to show emotion, yet needing to open up to release the pain, the survivor's greatest need is for love, patience and kind words - from someone who will be there in the dark hours when memories come flashing back. Perhaps that 'someone' is you.

Born and raised in northern Wisconsin, the author attended the University of Wisconsin – Superior, where she pursued a degree in psychology.  Although she ultimately abandoned her career goal of becoming a psychologist, she has never lost her desire to help the hurting. The author derived her insight from her good friend (Scot C.), whose experiences of victimization has taught her what it was like to be a male survivor, and to whom this book is dedicated.    “I feel things deeply, which is why it was so easy for me to write this book.  Knowing that males are the silent survivors ignited my passion to write this story.  It shocked me to learn there are so many.  I wanted to compose a work of fiction about a young man living the horrors and surviving.  I wanted to tell the world these men are out there and we have to support them, we have to restore their hope in life and themselves.  The little boy inside the man carries the wound, far into his life.  A Matter of Time came straight from my heart.  Though the story was the product of research and imagination, my friend Scot drove it into my heart and brought it to life.  And for that, I will be truly grateful.”  Aside from her writing interests, the author enjoys music, cooking, travel, and tennis.  She makes her home in Tallahassee, Florida with her husband of 21 years.
