When seventeen-year-old Deviris Thoran accepts the position as the Angel of Death with the desire to remember his past incarnation’s sudden demise, he has no idea that his first clue will come from an unknown assailant plunging a poisoned dagger into his chest.

Though narrowly escaping death thanks to a misguided lunge for his heart, having an enemy lurking about who’s capable of harming Angels only adds to the mystery behind just who Deviris’ predecessor really was. But in order to understand why someone would wish to keep the Angel of Death out of the picture, Deviris must first lift the lingering amnesia from his rebirth.

However, the more Deviris remembers, the more he begins to fear the person he once was. And the more he fears, the more the actions of his anonymous attacker appear justified. Yet in order to uncover the truth, Deviris will have to continue his search for an answer. Even if it means becoming that which he fears: Himself.
