Jen Bryant teaches Children's Literature at West Chester University. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and daughter. She is currently at work on her next novel, which will be published by Knopf in 2008. "From the Trade Paperback edition. Melissa Sweet is the illustrator of many fine children's books. Reviewers have described her unique mixed-media illustrations as "exuberant," "outstanding," and "a creative delight." Melissa lives on the beautiful coast of Maine. Beautifully illustrated, the book uses Williams's own poetry throughout the book to help kids get a sense of how he constructed his poetry and the way he incorporated his creative life into his day-to-day work.

Kids can also write their own poems, perhaps modeled on Williams's style and then get out their art supplies to create a collage like the ones featured in the book.
