"A Son’s Odyssey is the third and final book on the life of Air Commodore Jack Meadows, the youngest flag officer in the RAF during World War II. The first two books, Michael’s Messengers and Uncommon Warrior chronicled Jack’s life from his early years in Poland until the day he disappeared near Munich, Germany on May 5th, 1945.

A Son’s Odyssey reflects the deep devotion of one man for another in an effort to satisfy a belief that Jack Meadows was alive somewhere in the world.

A Son’s Odyssey is a love story about two fathers and their sons, and the love of a mother for the father of her child."

Lewis Allen Lambert is a highly decorated retired military officer who participated in numerous history making events during his career. His experiences span the terms of seven presidents from the cold war era to Vietnam, where he served as a covert intelligence officer, to the beginning of the war against the perpetrators of 9/11. As a media relations consultant he supported the Defense Department's successful media embed program during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Through countless films, books and television programs, he developed a profound interest in World War II history. His college professor, Dr. Gordon Prange, author of Tora! Tora! Tora!, Miracle at Midway and At Dawn We Slept was his greatest inspiration. Dr. Prange lived the history he wrote about. Lambert was also influenced by Herman Wouk's two great novels Winds of War and War and Remembrance. Though he didn't live the history of Wouk's novels as his professor had, Lambert's narrative transports the reader to a time when heroes he wrote about fought and died. He finds weaving a story into the fabric of factual historical events gives him the freedom to develop strong characters while making history relevant and more interesting. Lambert earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University, and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He and his wife Danielle, reside near Dallas, TX. They are the proud grandparents of six, one of whom is a serving United States Marine.
