Synopsis

"It was the best of times, it was the worst times," so begins the famous first lines of one of Charles Dickens most popular novels. "A Tale of Two Cities" is a story set in the late 18th century during the French Revolution and the title cities in question are that of London and Paris. At the heart of the novel is the story of a young Englishman who sacrifices his life to save the husband of a woman he loves. He achieved critical and popular international success in his lifetime and was honored with burial in Westminster Abbey.
