Carla Newbury, divorced mother of two, and a radio presenter at Avon FM, is finding it hard to overcome her history with her abusive ex-husband. Despite being wooed by the studio’s marketing executive, Chris Weller, she is unable to let go of her past and fully commit to a new relationship, while still haunted by her old one.
Until that is, one day she is given a letter by the studio head, Peggy Ashbourne, that has been sent to the station by a listener. It is the story of a woman who once had the chance for the love and happiness she had dreamt of, and yet gave it up through fear of change. Could this ‘Woman’s Tale’ be the spur to convince Carla that sometimes taking a gamble is worth the reward if you win?

A Novelette – approx 10,000 words.
