Tammy Jones has always thrived on accomplishing goals far outside her personal comfort zone. These aspirations have landed her in various unrelated jobs and interesting projects. Although she has always enjoyed regaling her family and friends with her own real-life stories, her interest in writing began as a form of therapy after coming to Alaska with her husband, Tom, who has no doubt taken her adventure-prone personality to a new level. Shortly after their initial Alaska excursions, they sold their home in Oregon and have since bought a second piece of land up north. Due to their most recent compromise, Tammy now resides with Tom and Pup in their new home on the beautiful banks of Pennock Island. The ever-changing view from their living room window extends across the Tongass Narrows toward Ketchikan and is regularly highlighted by pods of majestic killer whales, robust sea lions, adorable seals, colorful kayakers, and lively shorebirds. It is a place where the whistling of the stately bald eagle is often joined by rusty call of the gangly blue heron. The growl of a floatplane’s engine occasionally overtakes the rumble of a tugboat plowing through the channel it shares with barges, crab fishing vessels, skiffs, and ferries as well as the seasonal cruise ships packed with curious, nature-loving visitors from all over the world. Tom and Tammy still visit their cabin in Carroll Inlet where they continue to experience true isolation from time to time. For more information, please visit her website:
