The romance, though, doesn’t offer much beyond dramatic high school emotions: “How did it get to this level so quickly?” Emily asks herself—a good question that the book doesn’t really answer. An engaging narrative voice and thoughtful back story add depth to a fairly standard portal-adventure plot.

Synopsis

Traveling with the flowing water from one side of the Earth to the other in a split second is not only possible but an everyday reality. What if one ordinary afternoon you step into the water here on Earth and then step out from the water on a planet in a different galaxy, would you find the courage to stay? If a boy from this planet, who at first ignored you is now intrigued, would you take the risk and give him a second chance? I’m Emily Harrison, and not only do I know the answers to these questions, I also know their consequences. And given the choice, even after several embarrassing moments and a huge mistake, I would do it all again…. in a heartbeat!
