Synopsis

Illustrated in full color. Alfonse and Little Bird play the perennial favorite hide-and-seek in this adorable caper just right for young children. Little Bird, a duckling, counts to ten while her friend, the gray goose Alfonse, looks for a hiding place. Alfonse finds such a great place to hide that LIttle Bird walks right past. When Alfonse finally emerges from his hiding place, Little Bird has disappeared. Children will love looking for and finding Little Bird on each page--especially when Alfonse can't see her--in this charming story about friendship.

Rich enough to please adult eyes, yet simple enough to hold the attention of fidgety two-year-olds, debut author/artist Wilker's painterly watercolors and lively text have a delightfully old-fashioned feel that at times recalls classic children's books of the 1950s and '60s.
