That dude the Prince of Wales, Dion Dalvad, has had to go underground.
England is at war with itself. Disguised as the shaven-headed 'Harry Sims', a juvenile delinquent, the Prince can more easily mix with his people until the time comes to declare himself.

Large parts of the country are under the rule of the paramilitary force INTEG run by Humphrey Crask. Dion's father, King Leonard VIII, is under Crask's 'protection'. Crask and his right arm, the moody blue-chinned Danvers Pearce, are of otherworldly origin and keen to take over the earth, starting with England.

The British youth gangs, such as the Clank and the Motivators, are temporarily united because their way of life is under attack. Most of them are keen to defeat the republicans and restore King Leonard.

The fight to restore the kingdom encompasses everyone--from the gutters of Cairns north of the border to the roof tiles of Far View Palace in the city of Hythe.

Prince Dion has a few trusties to depend on: a Sansatchee Indian called Prairie Dog, the disc jockey Harvey Grimes and the ancient prizefighter Sam Carstairs. The struggle heads towards a final confrontation between the ghastly Danvers Pearce and Prairie Dog armed with his trusty tomahawk.
