He also wrote regularly for the yachting press and joined Yachting Monthly in 1998 as feature writer and news editor. He is the author of three sailing titles. Dick has a massive knowledge of sailing as well as extensive personal library and access to the Yachting Monthly library and archives. He is well known for his writing style: both powerful and poetic.
