Despite feeling that the romance had some inconsistency, I thought Angels’ Blood was a great beginning to a new series. I was instantly drawn into a world where angels fly across the sky, and I’ll be looking forward to Singh's next installment.

Nalini Singh introduces readers to a world of beauty and bloodlust, where angels hold sway over vampires.

Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux is hired by the dangerously beautiful Archangel Raphael. But this time, it’s not a wayward vamp she has to track. It’s an archangel gone bad.

The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other—and pull her to the razor’s edge of passion. Even if the hunt doesn’t destroy her, succumbing to Raphael’s seductive touch just may. For when archangels play, mortals break.

I was a bit bothered by Michaela,...who seems to spend a lot of time being shallow...there were fairly strong implications that there was more to her character than initially met the eye so hopefully we’ll see other sides of her in later books.

I’m amazed at the characters Singh creates as they are always interesting and draw me in, I have yet to find one that I absolutely abhor. The secondary characters in this story were phenomenal and all well developed!

Excellent

Angels’ Blood is a fantastically, amazingly, good read and it gets the Guild Hunter series off to a great start. It’s not like me to dictate (much!) but trust me on this, if you like paranormal romance you want to read this book.

Slow to develop. It is only in the last half of the book that Elena’s hunt for the rogue archangel really gets underway. When it does, the descriptions of violence the archangel inflicts on his human victims is unexpectedly graphic at times.
