Art Smith, who was Oprah Winfrey's personal chef and who cooks for and coordinates her high-profile functions around the world, lost 100 pounds through better eating. He has received the culinary profession's highest awards and has cooked for some of the world's most famous celebrities. As well as being a chef and an author, he is now also an accomplished restaurateur. He is the executive chef and co-owner of Table fifty-two, Art and Soul, Southern Art, and LYFE Kitchen restaurants. In late 2011 he opened Joanne's, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with Lady Gaga's parents. He is on the current season of Top Chef Masters, has appeared on the cover of Parade magazine, and has been featured in Cooking Light magazine.
