I totally get why adolescents might like this stuff, but to discover that people of voting age buy it is to me as dismal a discovery as the fact that grownups read Harry Potter.

Synopsis

THE NEW YORK TIMES AND #1 INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness...

He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private worlds...and desires.

The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...

In all fairness, I can distinctly remember a brief period of being genuinely, and somewhat helplessly, caught by the inane pendulum of Gideon and Eva’s relationship. The whole thing is ludicrous, and the characters consistently display the emotional maturity of...blueberry scones, but I felt Bared to You understood, and owned, its absurdity.

I could not be less interested in Gideon, and so, as much as I like Eva, I doubt I’ll be reading further, at least not without skimming

I would like more of an emotional connection between the two of them than I got in this book. This book was more about obsession and the initial attachment.
