While sharing my writing on the Hebrew letter, Lamed, with my husband, Max, who is a fine art painter, we
came up with an idea. Max was beginning to form some images in his mind from the reading. What if, when he
read my prose/poetry, he would set to canvas the imagery, creating a fine art painting? We both liked the idea,
and that was the beginning of this book. We continued the same process with each letter.
The beauty of nature and the interplay of light and motion have always inspired Max. His paintings express
the energy in the universe and, as he states, are “fi lled with his soul.” My writing speaks to the beauty in our
lives and the light of God’s presence, which guides us to be our best selves and live from our purest and holiest
soul. So the process that developed was a natural progression expressing our innermost feelings through our
complimentary creative venues.
This was the beginning of a two and one-half year process that stimulated an intimacy between us that brought
us to a new level of creativity. Working together became an interactive and integrative experience both on the
level of the power of the Hebrew letters and the love between us and God.
We are excited to present this unique collaboration to you and hope you are touched by the power and meaningful
essence of the Hebrew Letters of Creation.
