This book just took my breath away, and the ending — ohhhhhh the ending — it brought a good old tear to my eye. If this was a movie, I would give it a five-star rating because, for a fact, it literally played a movie in my head.

Synopsis

This enchanting story is told by Maudie Hessett who takes us back to 1499 when she was a girl living in Woolpit. One day she discovers two green children who have fallen into a wolf-pit from another world. Eventually the children are treated so cruelly by the villagers that they return to their own land. Maudie, now a grown woman, vows to visit the green world when her own child becomes old enough.
