It’s emotionally raw and the pain is nothing short of visceral. And right there is why I love it...Blood Promise will make you mad, make you cry and that last page will have your jaw hanging open. Any book that can churn such reactions will always find itself at the top of my favorite books list.

Synopsis

The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them . . . including Dimitri.

He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

When I finally put this book down, I have to admit, I was conflicted...But as always, the story was well written, gripping and impossible to walk away from. It did keep me on the edge of my seat throughout most of the book, wondering how Rose was going to handle what might have to happen.

This is the fourth book in the Vampire Academy series and, just like the others in the series, I loved it. I really didn't have the faintest clue of what would happen in this book, or even what I wanted to happen but it definitely didn't disappoint.

But of course, this journey has to lead somewhere. And the showdown between Rose and Dimitri was totally unexpected and intense. I was so surprised and caught off-guard by where Richelle Mead took this story. I love how unpredictable this series is, and I look forward, excitedly, to reading the rest of the series!
