Synopsis

You have probably selected this book because you or someone you love is still searching for a checklist, signpost, or a simple understanding of the steps needed to successfully assimilate into the civilian way of life. Because let’s face it: the culture, the life, and the institution of the military are anything but mainstream. The title phrase “camouflage to pinstripes” denotes more than doffing a uniform and donning a suit; it is a metaphor for a gradual journey of surrendering a beloved lifestyle and profession and thriving in a new culture. This book is intended to heighten your awareness about the mental and emotional struggle you will face as a result of this change in culture and to provide insights for traversing the process of surrendering the old life.
