While is does not point to any choking hazards, the fine print on the back of the book states that it is “Not suitable for children under 3 years of age.” The flimsy construction and poor art and verse make it ill-suited for older children, too.

Synopsis

In this charming pull-the-tabs book, preschool children are invited to join Chick Pea and his bluebird friend Sweet Pea as they learn about the changing seasons. Four two-page spreads illustrate the four seasons, showing how an apple tree changes its appearance in response to the passing months of each year. Tabs on every right-hand page are for boys and girls to pull out, presenting them with a different view of the apple tree, as its appearance is transformed from the early to the late weeks of each season. Fall's vivid hues, winter's snowflakes, spring's apple blossoms, and summer's leafy, fruit-laden branches are presented progressively, with appropriate colors for each season.
