Special Agent "Silent" Sam Ashton is one of the most successful hostage negotiators the FBI employs. He also happens to be best friends with Sergeant James Anderson, which means when Anderson's in a bind, Ashton is at his side. Today is the worst day of Jimmy Anderson's life, and it is no exception to this rule. Nine hostages are locked inside of a bank but as Sam begins to quickly appreciate, this is anything but a simple robbery. The stakes are far higher than the contents of a vault and it will take all of Sam's wiles to meet the demands of the five men within as the deadline fast approaches. Trapped within a storage room without answers, the hostages seek meaning in the seemingly meaningless criminal act. Nine strangers are about to realize that their lives have been a series of coincidences that have set them on trajectories with a single shared destiny. As the hours unfold inside and outside of the branch, Sam, Jimmy, the armed men, the hostages and their loved ones on the sidelines are drawn into the eye of an invisible storm years in the making. Secrets will be revealed, betrayals will be avenged, and blood will be shed. One way or another, they all must collide - and no one will ever be the same.
