Martina Sprague was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, and came to the United States as a student in 1980. She started in the martial arts in 1987, and has since then achieved black belts in Kenpo karate, kickboxing and street freestyle. The Complete Martial Arts Student is her seventh book on the martial arts. Livingston is a 20 year veteran of law enforcement and the master instructor for the S. Salt Lake Police Department defensive tactics training, including force on force, close quarter combat, pepper spray and taser instruction. He has been involved in the martial arts for 28 years and holds black belts in Tae-Kwon-Do and kickboxing.
