Set in Celtic Tiger Ireland, this novel follows the trials and tribulations of four couples. These young liberal couples live in a new material world where the values of pleasure seeking and intellectual stimulation have replaced the older more traditional values of family and faith. The novel explores the moral and ethical dilemmas facing the modern marriage and relationship.

Author studied Engineering at University College Dublin (graduate level) and University College Cork (post graduate). He has spent the last seven years doing literature research in the areas of modern science (Relativity, Quantum Theory and Astrophysics) and its associated philosophy. Alongside more traditional works such as 'About Time' (2006), Couples (2008), the author created his major work to date 'The Island' (2009) as a synthesis of his thought to date. 'The Return' 2013 continues the journey into the ever more complex world of modern knowledge.
