This story brings the reader to a single life-threatening event in a small, young pygmy marmosets life. The setting is in his natural habitat within an acacia tree in South America. Cuarto is smaller than most pygmy marmosets. He is respectful of the leaders in his family by not wandering too far from the group, and he routinely grooms their hair. One night a dangerous enemy caught Cuarto and his family by surprise. His father was able to hide his family but not himself. Instead of hiding from this sizable enemy, Cuarto makes a decision to save his father without any regard for his own small size. He demonstrates how his wit was more than enough in time of adversity. The result of the outcome gave him a new-founded respect by his family and a prestigious role that he hadn't expected, that of a leader. Cuarto's story will remind a reader that the mind can create a solution to any problem. Size should never matter. Heart-warming and educational tale to be read to ages 6-8.
