Synopsis

Face it...you really wanted to like the DEAD series, but the jumping around was simply too dang distracting. "Just give me one story to follow!" you screamed. Well...your request was heard. This collection of books strip away all those other pesky tales and gives you 18 chapters of Steve's Story, The Geeks, or the Vignettes.

Each special edition allows you to sink into a DEAD world with your favorite people and not be "distracted" by those long absences as other stories intrude and get in the way. A special edition has been released for all three of the story lines that exist in the DEAD books--DEAD: VignettesDEAD: The Geeks & DEAD: Steve's Story.

This book strips away all those other pesky tales and gives you 18 chapters of Steve's Story!
Steve Hobart is just a regular guy. Late one night, his world is tipped on its side as the dead began to walk. He slowly gathers a group of other survivors and, together, they brave the horrors of a DEAD world.

Every choice seems to yield as many consequences as it does rewards. He struggles with decisions made as well as opportunities lost as he finds himself in the unlikely role of leader. With a group that includes an Army doctor, a five-year-old Hispanic girl, a convicted murderer, and a teen girl who seems far better equipped to deal with the situation...Steve does his best to stay alive and one step ahead of the grasping hands of the walking dead...

This is a compilation of the the "Steve" story line from first three books in the DEAD series: Dead: The Ugly Beginning, Dead: Revelations, and Dead: Fortunes & Failures. Each special edition also contains close to 10,000 words of additional material requested by YOU...the readers! The book is at times hilarious, ironic, deadly serious, and a commentary on life in a small town with nothing going for it but the high school football team.

Brown and as so, some of the best in the biz but the focus here is broader than a simple zombie story (with larger than life characters and an epic showdown you feel building from about the halfway point) and they aren’t as rampant as they are in many of Mr. Brown’s other stories.
