Susan Fleet began playing trumpet at eight, joined the musicians' union at fifteen and has performed in the Boston area for many years. New Orleans is the setting for her award-winning crime thrillers, Absolution and Diva. The Premier Book Awards named Absolution the Best Mystery-Suspense-Thriller of 2009. Susan has taught at Brown University and Berklee College of Music, where she created a course about women musicians. Her e-book, Women Who Dared: Trailblazing 20th Century Musicians, features violinist Maud Powell and trumpeter Edna White.
