The greatest birthday present Rachel Morrison could give her dad, Graham, would be a life. Then she could have one, too. Because running a lodge in Port Protection, Alaska, is totally his dream, not hers. She wants to move back to New York--the most awesome city in the world for a teenage girl.

Well, she's about to make that happen.

Posing as her dad online, Rachel connects with Courtney Woods--a gorgeous, smart Big Apple ad exec. Perfect! But when Courtney steps off the float plane with a super birthday greeting, Graham isn't feeling the perfection. Okay, so Rachel tricked them into this situation, but they're made for each other. She just has to prove it to them!

About Candy Halliday

See more books from this Author
Born on April Fool's Day, Candy was destined to have a sense of humor, which is why she believes writing romantic comedy feels natural for her. Preferring to think of herself as a Boomer Babe instead of a Baby Boomer, Candy enjoyed childhood in the simplistic '50s, but says it's been a wild roller coaster ride since then. She burned her bra and marched for women's rights and civil rights in the turbulent '60s. She survived the hardships of being a single mom in '70s. She found and married her soul mate in the '80s. She became a grandmother in the '90s. And she finally fulfilled her dream of becoming a published author at the dawning of the new millennium.Though her writing career has taken off somewhat late in life, Candy insists the timing couldn't be more perfect for her. After all, she's had the privilege of seeing women come full circle, giving her a wealth of experience to draw from as a romance writer. And though it was Candy's generation who helped women achieve the freedom to make career choices in life today, ironically she says she couldn't be more pleased that her own daughter has chosen to be a stay-at-home mom. "It's not about what career we, as women, choose," Candy stresses, "it's about our right to make those choices without gender being a factor in our decision."A member of the Romance Writers of America since 1995, Candy also keeps busy with her local RWA chapter, The Heart Of Carolina Romance Writers, in Raleigh. She loves to hear from her readers, who can email her at: Candy lives in North Carolina with her husband, their schnauzer, Millie, and a cat named Boo. Her daughter, son-in-law, and her grandchildren live only a few miles away. When she isn't at her keyboard, she spends as much time as possible with her family. "I've always heard life begins at 40," Candy muses, "but 50 has certainly been the magical number for me."
