Synopsis

Annie had never known life without Mitch, until he is snatched away after losing his battle with cancer. Three years after Mitch's death, Annie is faced with the realisation that her strength during her grieving, has been her own worst enemy, as she becomes paralysed by deep depression. Her life begins to spiral uncontrollably and her world is turned upside down. With the help of her psychologist Grace Nightingale, Annie begins small steps in taking back control of her life. Her recovery is far from smooth however, as she uncovers unnerving truths about some of her family and friends. She discovers a web of deceit that has reduced her to a shadow of her former self, and is shocked by how blind she was to it. With courage and determination she finds tiny flickers of hope to give her the strength she needs to re-emerge from the darkness, with self-belief and confidence. Not everyone is pleased with her new found strength however, as they endeavour to keep her trapped in the depths of a barbed wire blanket of depression.
