Mark was a medical teacher for one of the schools. He was gay and worked for a Dean who was homophobic. The dean was not very well liked because his mean attitudes he displayed to the teachers and students.
Tommy was a very poor student who was failing school because of being so malnourished for such a long period of time. His mother was an alcoholic and an addict. She didn't have much to do with him and many days would go by and he went hungry.
Mark could see there was possibilities in Tommy being able to learn and took the time to devote to him.
Read how Tommy was able to get through medical school and achieve high honors in spite of his shortcomings. This is a gay romance that is also quite tear jerking at times as he struggles to make it.
