Synopsis
Vernon King, a small-town lawyer in Purdy, Mississippi was enjoying a peaceful summer night when he saw the flames that would eventually lead to defending his friend and neighbor against homicide charges in Federal court.
Vernon believes in his friend's innocence, but it takes an old man telling the truth amidst a backdrop of murder and intrigue to finally reveal the secret behind the fire and the body found in the ashes.
