This is a very fast paced book, and reminded me why I fell in love with this series in the first place.

In the world of Harmony, Rainshadow Island is home to a mysterious preserve, secrets that have been kept for centuries, and a treasure worth killing for…
As a light-talent, Alice North has the rare ability to make things disappear, including herself—a gift that comes in handy during her magic act with her dust bunny Houdini.
Business mogul Drake Sebastian is day-blind, since his sight was nearly destroyed in a lab accident. But he’s the one man who can see Alice when she disappears—and he needs her.
On Rainshadow Island, two dangerous Old World crystals are missing, igniting a paranormal storm. Drake thinks Alice is the key to finding them, and proposes they head there, but only after a Marriage of Convenience.
Alice’s honeymoon on Rainshadow is guaranteed to be memorable, as the island—and the passion between her and Drake—is about to explode…

I would definitely recommend Jayne Castle (Jayne Ann Krentz) for a good sci-fi romance, and this one fits well into the universe she has created. I think because of the blend of genres, this would definitely appeal to those new to the sci-fi universe. especially those who enjoy mysteries.

Alice North manages to be tough and keep her sense of humor despite dire circumstances, giving this tale an extra boost of wit and fun. Add in a mischievous dust bunny named Houdini and you have the perfect recipe for hours of reading pleasure!

Deception Cove is fully of suspense, passion and discoveries that both answer and leave more questions. I fell for Drake and Alice instantly and love that yet another wonderful couple has found their place in a fantastic world in which talents, ghost hunters and dust bunnies live.

It is not the best book in the series, but still a very good one. I do not recommend you start reading Jayne Castle books with this one though. There are some previous couples in this book who had their own story first.

I've got a soft spot in my heart for Jayne Castle...a fast paced, entertaining novel with quick dialogue...Add in characters from past books and you've got a great addition to the Rainshadow series that functions well as a stand alone.
