Synopsis

This eBook is an amazing gift for all into alternative healing, mind-body-soul genre or Deepak Chopra's books, containing a summary of AYURVEDA – path to eternal Bliss (Amazon $ 19.90), but also parts of the complete guide “Vaata – The Key to Perfect Mental Health” ($ 55.00/eBook 24.90)

Although “downfall” is a bit apocalyptic, Ayurveda’s popularity has decreased drastically since Chopra’s introduction 25 years ago. Medical professionals keep a distance, despite their initial enthusiasm. The reason behind the growing disrepute, but also the propagated avenues to a disease-free life, are analyzed.

Prof. h. c. Manfred Krames has spent 26 years in the Far East, studying with outstanding masters of traditional healing arts. He speaks several Asian languages and is an expert on oriental philosophy as well. This work he dedicates to all who believe that there must be more to Ayurveda than Indian herbs, oil massages, Vata or Pitta Tea. Indeed there is. Step by step, he explains in depth the mechanism behind the elemental forces (dosha) that govern your health, and how to apply this knowledge to your life, without depending on commercialized pseudo Ayurveda, that seems to serve the mind-body industry more than the troubled health seeker.

Different from mainstream literature, Manfred Krames, in a whistle blowing manner, elaborates in plain English that Ayurvedic healing does not rely on messy treatments or imported products, and that simple remedies or dietary adjustments have as well a significant impact on health, costing only a fraction of what is labeled ‘AYURVEDA’, often even marketed in conjunction with Hindu worldviews, esoteric elements or costly Indian style treatments.
Such exploitation has not occurred to Chinese Medicine (TCM) or Homoeopathy, both considered valuable among the medical community, still after six decades of their initial acceptance by the West. The author analyzes carefully as to what went wrong with Ayurveda, and why it is on the verge of vanishing. The solution, of course, is also given.
