Em and Liam are perfectly matched and within the violent, sexy world of the MC both find equal footing.
-Dear Author

Synopsis

Liam “Hunter” Blake hates the Reapers MC. Born and raised a Devil’s Jack, he knows his duty. He’ll defend his club from their oldest enemies—the Reapers—using whatever weapons he can find. But why use force when the Reapers’ president has a daughter who’s alone and vulnerable? Hunter has wanted her from the minute he saw her, and now he has an excuse to take her.

Em has lived her entire life in the shadow of the Reapers. Her overprotective father, Picnic, is the club’s president. The last time she had a boyfriend, Picnic shot him. Now the men in her life are far more interested in keeping her daddy happy than showing her a good time. Then she meets a handsome stranger—a man who isn't afraid to treat her like a real woman. One who isn't afraid of her father. His name is Liam, and he’s The One.

Or so she thinks.

Ultimately, I couldn't fully get past the hero who appeared sociopathic at times, the dearth of ethnic characters (minus "the cartel" from Mexico - yeah, the bad guys), and the Madonna/whore theme sprinkled throughout. This is a shame because the storytelling is exceptional.

Joanna Wylde gave me everything I wanted in this amazing book. I got completely lost in the story. The characters were amazing. Their path wasn't an easy one, it was paved with betrayal, sacrifice, and plenty of sexy times. Emotions overflowed...

...I loved this book. I actually love all three books in this series (maybe book two with Ruger being my favorite). It’s a bit more gritty and less moral and that’s fine by me. I didn’t love Em’s sister, she felt too abrasive and annoying, but otherwise I enjoyed everyone else...

All in all, Wylde has made a name for herself with me in terms of biker romance. I love the way the books are so gritty and dirty and yet sweet and romantic. I like that although the lifestyle is depicted in a way that is not always positive, the relationship between the hero and heroine is always so genuine and real and full of deep emotions.

This book moves along at a cracking pace, and I don’t mind at all that a fair number of the earlier chapters retell one subplot from the previous book, especially since we get a completely different version of the same events. I’ll definitely be grabbing the next in the series too...

It was also refreshing to read a hero that didn’t feel the need to push his heroine around. They both knew the score getting involved with each other and thus didn’t make demands or give ultimatums. Hunter and Em got their HEA because they both worked for it.

...it was another strong addition to the series that kept my full interest all the way through. I loved the characters, the backdrop and the story path. It’s probably on the gentler end of the biker romance spectrum, but still cares some heat and violence to justify it.

Em and Hunters story was swoonworthy, sweet, passionate, dramatic and exhilarating, add in giggle worthy exchanges, the heat and the innocence of their relationship, the struggles with rivalry and brotherhood and you’ve got one hell of a read. Devil’s Game delivered, Em and Liam’s sweet romance captured my heart!

Call me a hypocrite but Em’s kidnapping and her subsequent actions showed that she is more than just a Daddy’s girl in the MC world. I also enjoyed how Hunter didn’t fully embrace the concept of love until Em showed him what it really was.

I have to say, Joanna writes one of the funnest MC Series, cause the story lines are never boring, the characters are real, and the one liners are legendary! I have such a great time reading this series, and especially DEVIL'S GAME, cause I really liked Em's character and I just wanted her to find a little bit of sunshine among all the fog!
