She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and fellow writer, Jerry. Geraldo Valrio was born in Brazil and has created art for many books in Brazil, Portugal, Canada, and the United States. The titles he has illustrated include The Hungry Ghosts, by Julius Lester (Penguin), All Aboard For Dreamland, by Melanie Harby (Simon & Schuster). He has collaborated before with Eileen Spinelli on When You Are Happy and Do You Have a Hat? (both Simon & Schuster). Geraldo lives in British Colombia.

She wrote clever little rhymes about each of these people and their dogs, although there is little information about the dogs or their owners beyond the fact that the people had dogs.
