When you’re a favorite pet, the arrival of a rival can spark a pang of jealousy - but this charmingly illustrated tale reminds us that there’s plenty of love to go around.

Dudley is as happy as a dog can be: waking up Anna bright and early, knocking over vases while he’s playing hide-and-seek, scaring the neighbor’s cat (or trying to), and curling up with Anna at day’s end. But when Anna brings home a baby chameleon named Pequito, everything changes. Readers who have ever reluctantly shared the spotlight — with a new baby, an older sibling, or another potential competitor — will be drawn to this sweet, satisfying tale, expressively illustrated in a bold graphic style.

Charlotte Middleton knew she wanted to be an illustrator from an early age. She says, "When I wrote DO YOU STILL LOVE ME? I was inspired by my own childhood as a younger sibling. Pequito is a bit sweeter than I was — he is not deliberately grabbing attention! When Pequito goes missing, Dudley’s strength and maturity are revealed as his jealousy fades. Through his act of bravery, we see how Dudley loves Pequito, and Dudley comes to appreciate his own abilities as well. I hope this book offers some reassurance to children."

The old new-sibling/pet-in-the-house formula is given an original twist when Pequito the chameleon moves in, disturbing Dudley the dog’s sublime peace.
