On an impulse, Sarah Adams, a fifty-two year old widow, flies to Ireland in an attempt to break out of the grief that has dominated her life since her husband's death. When a pregnant runaway faints in her arms, Sarah nurses the girl back to health and returns her to her father, a handsome carpenter, who has not been interested in any woman in the six years since his wife's death. While reuniting father and daughter, Sarah is drawn into love, but is reluctant to admit her feelings until a surprising discovery reveals a dark secret about her marriage. Only then does she realize that courage, honesty, kindness and love are what makes a person truly wealthy.
