As always, the themes in the novelettes contained by this book relate to the subjugation and feminization of males by women.
"Essentially Female" is about a young English schoolboy whose mother mistakenly assumes that he is extremely masculine and attempts to 'smooth out' what she sees as rough edges.
"Something About a Sailor" tells of how a young male with a strong clerical background goes to work for a female Naval officer - and how she behaves when she discovers that he may be her perfect mate.
"A New Girl in the Family" tells how a male secretary attempts to heal a rift between his female boss and her mother.
