Bella is simply too immature of a character, the conflicts too false, for me to want to continue this series. The unnatural way in which this series was elongated through the insertion of this supposed love triangle has killed even my desire to re-read Twilight, which was one of my books of the year in 2005.

Synopsis

Readers captivated by Twilight and New Moon will eagerly devour Eclipse, the much anticipated third book in Stephenie Meyer's riveting vampire love saga. As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob --- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?

Unsettling racially charged characterizations are offset by messages of overcoming difference and working together. Fans of Bella’s angst-drenched love triangle will gobble this entry up, and the open-ended conclusion paves the way for Jake’s story to come.

The legions of readers who are hooked on the romantic struggles of Bella and the vampire Edward will ecstatically devour this third installment of the story begun in Twilight, but it’s unlikely to win over any newcomers.

Meyer’s trilogy seethes with the archetypal tumult of star-crossed passions, in which the supernatural element serves as heady spice. As Bella and her vampire swain channel Romeo and Juliet, Heathcliff and Cathy, their audience falls under the spell of a love that is not only undying, but undead.

I found myself skipping the whiney narrative. If you choose Eclipse, you'll just have to waste your time reading it, as I sadly did.

Stephenie Meyer is so good at painting the emotional image. Not only are you living Bella’s heartbreak – but your own, too. So good at putting into words the fuzzy over powering feeling of that first heartbreak, and of the second, that you are left breathless in the wake of its passing.

Readers will enjoy Eclipse because Bella’s heart is torn. She knows she wants Edward but she’s always going to wonder what her life would be like if she chose Jacob...Overall, Stephenie Meyer brilliantly captures true love and the meaning of sacrifice with Eclipse.

The further development of the Jake-Bella-Edward love triangle, in particular, will almost certainly appeal to romance fans, and will divide readers according to whom --- the coldly beautiful Edward or the hot-headed Jake --- they think Bella should choose.

Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer is an awesome book that has a lot of detail in it. This book is the 3rd of the series and it is the one book in the series that has a lot of danger and suspense.

Those who enjoy moody fantasy romance, though -- and we know there are lots of teens that do -- will find that ECLIPSE is very well done. Author Stephenie Meyer's writing style will keep readers turning pages even when there is nothing much happening (which is most of the time).
