The author rediscovered her love for writing after experiencing a life changing loss in 2001. She with the help of her higher power used writing as a tool to overcome the challenges associated with that dark chapter in her life. The collection of poems in this book focuses on such subjects as lost, love, family, self-determination, religion, politics, philosophy, and racism, the collection span over a decade. "Changing Times" is a short story that follows the life of the main character from the segregated south through the1960's Civil Rights Movement. "Market Place" is a lighthearted profile essay of one of the "oldest" continuous operation farmers market in America.
