"It’s a wonderful idea from a family perspective and a testament to her respect for Ernest Loy, who survived the Battle of the Bulge in the war’s closing months. More background on Loy might have helped, as we know little about him. Still, with the lack of information available, Loy has managed to document Ernest’s military service."

Synopsis

Ernest has talked very little about his war experience over the years. Realizing when he is gone the memory would be gone and realizing that that is true of this entire generation, we set out to document those memories. This book seeks to capture his experience as he related it to me. I will admit, my effort to get more of his personal feelings from day to day failed miserably.
