Brian O’Brien, a Miami police sergeant, becomes an inadvertent hero while saving a man and his daughter in a canal car accident.The man is a politician, Carlos Luis Bentincore, who is favored to become the next president of Colombia, South America. The grateful candidate bonds with his rescuer and young family, but O’Brien’s celebrated moment in the spotlight is short lived. The “accident” was in reality an assassination attempt. Bentincore is the target of a sinister White House scheme to place a puppet government into the Colombian presidency.
