"“After reading ‘Exegesis’, I felt that I had not only read a wonderful collection of poetry, but that I had come that much closer to understanding the incredible artistic ability of a Poet who might one day be defined as one of the “Greats.” This collection’s makeup is strong and poignant, and after reading Mekael’s previous collections, it shows the growth that Mekael has experienced in his personal life, which of course naturally affects the Poet within. Not to sound like a cliché, but this collection is a true must have for all who loves poetry.”
Eric R. Prescott, Poet and Illustrator

“Mekael’s skill for expression is intensely powerful and it rings out, loud and strong like the bell of a Cathedral in this newest collection. He has delivered a bold masterpiece of true poetic rendering in an antiquated style. His lyrical verses and delivery, makes him a true throwback, reminiscent of the poets of old. Mekael seems to be getting better with time.”

Mekael L. Shane, a native of Indianapois, Indiana, has been writing poetry since 1996. The author of five collections of poetry, Mekael steams forward in his evolution as an artist. His work spans the dreamscape of topics, from love, to war, to the ever present issue of the human condition. This three time Georgia Author of the Year for Poetry nominee defines poetry as his "expounded addiction." Ever since the release of his first book of poetry, acute; The Genesisacute;, Mekael has dedicated himself to his craft, working hard to strengthen his writing skill, use of vocabulary and understanding of what the fullness of poetry is. This sentiment is evident in the collections that followed acute; The Genesisacute;. Strongly elegiac, Mekaelacute;s work has the ability to reach deep inside its readers, and affecting their inner beings. In his latest collection, acute;Simian Soulacute;, Mekael paints a powerful portrait that tells the story of a man on a voyage, or a "hajj", as he often refers to it. In this collection, Mekael has released all possible shackles, as he pours himself out, by way of his pen, which promises to make acute;Simian Soulacute; a collection of poetry full of impact and empowerment.
