"He's all the shops on Church Street put together," people say when Grandpa Lev passes by. But now the old peddler needs a new horse to pull his heavy wagon.

"Have you heard the news?" says Dr. Samuelson. "The firehouse has two brand-new engines, and all the horses will be auctioned." Firehorse Max is big and fast, and just the horse to help Grandpa Lev.

All's well -- until one day Max hears fire bells clanging in the distance. "Oy!" cries Grandpa Lev. "Stop that horse!"‘He's all the shops on Church Street put together,' people say when Grandpa Lev passes by. But now the old peddler needs a new horse to pull his heavy wagon.
