Dr. Garcia has been an Associate Professor in the Human Services Program at California State University, Fullerton since 1982. She has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Anthropology Department at California State University, Fullerton since 1986. Mikel Garcia's scholarly work includes presentations of twenty-five research papers at national conferences in anthropology and human services over the last 7 years. Her publications include articles on innovative teaching methods in applied anthropology, teaching methods for use with multi-culturally diverse students, the women's club movement of the 19th century, and ethnohistorical research on the Los Angeles Black community.
