Synopsis

G. R. Grover & Son’s Anthology is a collection of poems spanning more than seven decades. From the viewpoint of two generations, this poetic medley includes observations ranging from World War II to the exploration of Mars and beyond. Dad’s reflections on human observation, navy and railroading experiences, and his quirky humor were the primary inspiration for my own writing. Growing up in the 60’s (the flower-power generation), I had a wealth of material to draw upon. With my love of the absurd, inspirations ranged from political topics, love lost and found, science fiction, space technology, reality television, and more

Garald R. Grover was my father. To his friends, he was just Perk. During his lifetime, he raced stockcars, became a photographer and a gun smith, served in the U.S. Navy, and worked as a railroad engineer. He died in 1974. My work history has been more varied. I have worked as a busboy, driven a semi, owned and operated a restaurant, and worked as a machine operator, security officer, office worker, and furniture salesman. These days, I drive a motor coach. When not transporting passengers and writing, I am an advocate for development of space technology and commercialization.
