Free-lance artist Emma Franklin inherits a farm in MacKinlay, North Carolina and stumbles upon a mystery involving the town's namesake, a man despised and scorned by everyone she meets. Leanna Sain lives on Miracle Hill Farm in the mountains of western North Carolina with her husband, two cats, one dog, a flock of chickens, and a herd of dairy goats. Her two sons, whom she homeschooled, have grown into remarkable young men and she's very proud of them. She's active in her church, First Baptist-Hendersonville, and loves to go on mission trips. So far, she's gone to Germany, England and Russia (twice). When she's not writing, she keeps busy as a free-lance portrait artist, co-owner of a retail store, and gardener.
