Geding Goliath tells the story of the last days of the original AT&T before its purchase for scrap value by a competitor in 2005. Stark was a high ranking attorney for the company and was involved over the prior two decades in the various efforts to save the company. He goes through, naming names as he does, the four "Colossal Failures" that doomed the company.

Born in 1952, Dan Stark became a lawyer in 1977. He practiced in Washington D.C. for six years before joining AT&T. He rose through the ranks to become a vice president in the AT&T law division. He retired in 2004, and began to write. He has been married twice and has two children. "Gelding Goliath" is his second book.
