Gemma Watson, the daughter of parents who buy land for letting to farmers, is about to have her world torn apart, following a road accident.

Gemma inherits a considerable amount of money. Already she is being badgered by relatives wanting to control her life, as well as her fortune. Then with tenant farmers not happy being controlled by a teenager, trouble begins to brew and Gemma is now close to breaking point.

If this wasn’t enough, she also has a boyfriend, far older than her. With meeting him even before she was sixteen, Gemma’s frightened of her relatives finding out. Knowing they would seek to destroy, not only their relationship, but his reputation.

Who can she trust and more the point what can she do, when with every turn, she seems to be digging the hole around her even deeper?
