Synopsis

The first book of the Gentleman Companion Trilogy, Gentleman Companion One, introduces Lawrence the Gentleman Companion. He is a full-time marine biologist who spends summers traveling on an international cruise ship, which provides him with a penthouse, butler, and ship charge card in return for him fulfilling wishes of eight ship guests.
Angeline, the Event Director, who creates magical memorable dates in secret locations or in ports of call, reviews applicant's complete application.  After signing an agreement, which includes no sexual contact or acknowledgement of Lawrence before or after the date, and no attempt to find his stateroom, applicants receive date and time specific invitations.
Sally's application read" My wish is to stand away from my wheelchair and dance with Lawrence in a beautiful ball gown."
His butler, Rolf, noticed the patches of crusty skin on Lawrence's ear and behind his knees. Lawrence promised to have his physician check out these discolorations, which he attributed to skin changes due to excessive sun exposure.
