Ask Evan Maitland what he does and he'll tell you he sells antiques. His days of bounty hunting are behind him. But then an eccentric dealer from New York offers him a lot of money to find a rare and valuable antique in London. Maitland takes the job and runs straight into the British criminal underworld. Framed for murder and pursued by both mobsters and Scotland Yard, Maitland finds that England is not a land of tea and crumpets, but violence, deviance, and dark brutality.
